God of War(R) II Rocks Beyond
PlayStation(R)2 With Upcoming Soundtrack Release
Soundtrack Features Junkie XL, Shadows
Fall, MySpace Contest Winner
FOSTER CITY, Calif., March 14 /PRNewswire/
-- Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) announced today the upcoming
release of the musical soundtrack for God of War(R) II, available
exclusively for the PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system, further
demonstrating how games continue to grow as an entertainment medium and
provide fans with full emotional experiences. Available at Sony Connect,
retail outlets and on iTunes for $9.99, the soundtrack features an
eclectic mix of orchestral, hip-hop and hard rock music, which is accented
in the game by sound effects recorded at Foley Studios on the Warner
Brothers Studios lot.
Orchestral pieces scored by the original game's composers and performed by
the London Sessions Brass Players and the Czech National Symphony
Orchestra String Players and Choir are featured alongside electronica and
hard rock music, including tracks created specifically for God of War II
by Junkie XL and Atlantic Records recording artist Shadows Fall. The
soundtrack also includes music from TraGic, a.k.a. George Doman, a brand
new artist and winner of the "God of Noise" original song
contest, hosted on MySpace last year. The God of War II sound design not
only makes for a more intense gaming experience, it builds on the success
of the sound design for the original God of War(R), which received
critical praise and awards for its original score and soundtrack including
the coveted Outstanding Achievement in Original Sound Design and Original
Music Composition, awarded by the Academy of Interactive Arts &
Sciences.
"The popular response to the original God of War in-game score and
soundtrack was so overwhelming, we wanted to take it one step further with
the sequel by delivering more of the signature God of War II sound and in
addition, give fans a solid soundtrack that features both orchestral
pieces of in-game music and also bonus original tracks created exclusively
for us by Junkie XL and Shadows Fall that were inspired by the score of
the game," said Chuck Doud, Director of Music, SCEA. "In
addition, our God of Noise contest winner, George Doman, will be featured
on the God of War II soundtrack." SCEA hosted the "God of
Noise" original song contest housed on MySpace.
The "God of Noise" contest called for musicians to upload their
song to www.MySpace.com/GodofWar in order to register for the contest in
which George Doman won by creating a banging hip-hop track titled
"God Like." As the contest winner, George Doman beat more than
500 other artists to be featured on the soundtrack. To create the best
possible in-game sound effects, SCEA enlisted critically-acclaimed Foley
Artist John Roesch to deliver an added level of authenticity that immerses
players in Kratos' battles with the gods. Utilizing all of the tools at
the Warner Brothers Foley Studio, Roesch thumped watermelons, snapped
celery, clanked chains and twisted lettuce to underscore the head bashing,
sword fighting and bone breaking of the game's intense combat.
About God of War II God of War II brings
players back to the violent world of Greek mythology where they last left
the vicious ex-Spartan warrior Kratos atop his godly throne as the new God
of War. In God of War II, Kratos must journey to the far reaches of the
earth and defeat untold horrors and alter that which no mortal, or god has
ever changed, his fate. God of War II sets an epic stage for a devastating
mythological war to end all wars. Armed with the deadly blades and
blistering rage, players will be aided by new breath-taking magic and new
brutal combat moves. The journey will take them through vividly striking
environments where they will be faced with a labyrinth of challenging
puzzles and mini-games intricately woven into the story. The violence will
come to life in gory detail as Kratos encounters new mythical characters,
and competes in epic boss battles in his quest. The independent
Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has rated God of War II an M

Microsoft Unites Xbox and PC
Gamers With Debut of Games for Windows — LIVE
Xbox LIVE extends to Windows Vista to
create single online gaming service starting with “Halo 2” on May 8.
REDMOND, Wash. — March 14, 2007 —
Microsoft Corp. today announced the extension of the Xbox LIVE® games and
entertainment network to the Windows® platform, bringing together the
most popular online console game service with the most popular games
platform in the world. Debuting on May 8, 2007, with the launch of the
Windows Vista™ version of the Xbox® blockbuster “Halo® 2,” Games
for Windows — LIVE will connect Windows gamers to over six million
gamers already in the Xbox LIVE community. Then, launching in June, “Shadowrun™”
will for the first time connect Windows gamers with Xbox 360™ players in
cross-platform matches using a single service. “UNO®,” releasing
later in 2007, will also support cross-platform play between Windows and
Xbox 360.
The launch of Games for Windows — LIVE
marks a major expansion of the LIVE service across multiple platforms,
uniting gamers with a single identity, a single gamertag, a single friends
list and a single list of achievements attainable on the Xbox 360 and a
Windows-based PC. Games for Windows — LIVE gamers will be able to easily
find and play supported titles online with their friends across a Windows
computer or an Xbox 360. As a unified service with Xbox LIVE, Games for
Windows — LIVE will be available in every country and region supported
today by Xbox LIVE.
“Five years ago, we began building a
service that now defines the bar for online gameplay,” said Peter Moore,
corporate vice president of the Interactive Entertainment Business in the
Entertainment and Devices Division at Microsoft. “The benefit of
expanding LIVE to Games for Windows titles is twofold: We’re bringing
together two communities that share a passion for playing online games,
and we’re enhancing the online experience for PC gamers who have long
desired seamless game and voice connectivity — it’s a win for
everyone.”
Members of Xbox LIVE automatically
receive the functionality of Games for Windows — LIVE, using the same
gamertag and friends list at no additional cost. For a single, unified
service, the pricing of the LIVE service across both Xbox and Games for
Windows is identical. In addition, Games for Windows — LIVE introduces
the best of Xbox LIVE functionality to please PC gamers, such as in-game
voice chat, integrated achievements and dedicated servers. The offering of
both Silver and Gold memberships will remain in place for gamers on the
Xbox 360 and Windows PC. There is no cost associated with signing up for a
Silver membership. Gold memberships will deliver the premium online
network experience for $49.95 (U.S.) per year. Current Xbox LIVE Gold
members will automatically have access to Gold features on Games for
Windows — LIVE titles.
Silver Membership Features
· Single gamertag
· Common gamer profile
· Common gamerscore
· Single player achievements
· Private chat via text and voice
· Common friends list and online
presence
· PC only multiplayer including
browsing a list of active PC games
Gold Membership Features
· All Silver membership features
· Multiplayer matchmaking with friends
· TrueSkill™ matchmaking
· Multiplayer achievements
· Cross-platform gameplay
These features of the LIVE gaming and
entertainment network will enable gamers to communicate online and play
supported games across both of Microsoft’s gaming platforms, bringing
more players and their friends together to connect in new and exciting
ways. The following games make up the first wave of titles to support the
LIVE service for gaming:
· “Halo 2” for Windows Vista
(Microsoft® Game Studios). Release date: May 8, 2007. The highly
anticipated title brings Master Chief to Windows Vista and is the first
title to incorporate the new Games for Windows — LIVE service. Windows
Vista gamers will be able to challenge each other in PC-to-PC multiplayer
matches and earn achievements for the first time in the “Halo”
franchise, as well as communicate via voice or text with other Xbox LIVE
or Games for Windows — LIVE members. The visually enhanced classic
includes an all-new Map Editor, which will allow for new content and
greater game customization. “Halo 2” will be playable with mouse and
keyboard or the Xbox 360 Controller for Windows.
· “Shadowrun” (Microsoft Game
Studios). Release date: June 2007. The intense first-person shooter will
let gamers rewrite the rules of engagement as they vie for supremacy in an
experience that rewards cleverness, cunning and split-second improvisation
through a unique combination of modern weapons, ancient magic and advanced
technology. The first title to connect both Windows Vista and Xbox 360
gamers in cross-platform competition will let up to 16 players battle
online. Cross-platform play will require Gold level membership. More

Battlefront announces TOW editor
SPMBT 2.0 patch released
TOM CLANCY'S GHOST RECON ADVANCED
WARFIGHTER® 2 IN STORES NOW FOR XBOX 360(TM)
Sequel to 2006's Next-Generation Killer
App Ready for a New Tour of Duty
SAN FRANCISCO – Today Ubisoft, one of
the world's largest video game publishers, announced that Tom Clancy's
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter® 2 for the Xbox 360(TM) video game and
entertainment system from Microsoft is now available in stores nationwide.
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter® 2 is the sequel to the
massively popular squad-based action franchise, and next-gen smash hit of
2006. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter® 2 is rated "T”
for Teen by the ESRB and an MSRP of $59.99 for Xbox 360(TM).
"Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced
Warfighter redefined the next generation of gaming with its award-winning
gameplay, amazing graphic quality and critically acclaimed multiplayer
action on Xbox LIVE,” said Tony Key, vice president of marketing at
Ubisoft. "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 is not going
to raise the bar; it's going to smash it into a million pieces. All of the
features that shot the first game to the echelons of gaming greatness are
going to be bigger, better and more lethal than ever in the sequel.”
About Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced
Warfighter® 2:
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced
Warfighter 2 builds off of the events in the first game and places gamers
in control of the U.S. military's elite fighting unit, the Ghosts. In the
year 2014, the rising conflict between Mexican loyalists and insurgent
rebel forces has thrown Mexico into full-scale civil war. Under the
command of Captain Scott Mitchell, the Ghosts are called upon to face an
imminent threat to the United States. The fate of two countries now lies
in the hands of the Ghosts as they fend off an attack on U.S. soil.
Equipped with the most cutting-edge
weaponry and technology, the Ghosts must
battle on both sides of the border to neutralize the escalating rebel
threat.
Key Features:
· Groundbreaking Visual Experience: The
war zone in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 comes to life
as you navigate through trash-strewn streets and pick off enemies from
behind bomb-scarred structures. The cutting-edge physics and particle
systems will show you some of the most intense and realistic explosions,
smoke, and environment destruction ever seen in a video game. Dynamic
lighting and shadows will morph as real-time day/night cycles and a
constantly changing weather system require you to adjust to the changing
conditions on the fly.
· All-New Battlegrounds: For the first
time ever, the Ghosts will defend U.S. soil from a cross-border attack,
taking the fight to all-new locations. The Ghosts will battle enemies in
mountain terrains, barren deserts and even on their home turf in El Paso,
Texas. Each environment presents its own benefits and challenges and will
call for fresh tactical approaches.
· Vastly Improved Artificial
Intelligence (AI): Watch your back as rebels send their own team members
to flank your position or gain vantage points by utilizing vertical
gameplay to pick you off from the rooftops above. Improved squad-mate AI
will now feed you more of the information you need with descriptive
commands like "enemy spotted behind red truck ahead.”
· Improved Cross-Com: The revolutionary
new Cross-Com 2.0 will give the player more information than ever before.
You will be able to see what your friendly forces see in the top left
display and the click of a button will expand that to full-screen view for
a clearer and more precise picture. This will give you a more
comprehensive view of the entire battlefield. The new Full Command View
will allow unprecedented precision in developing and issuing tactical
plans on the battlefield.
· Expanded Support: Command lethal air
strikes with jet fighters, gain mobile cover for otherwise impassable
situations and replenish armaments on the battlefield using an unmanned
artillery MULE. Players can now heal their team on the battlefield,
including squad leader Scott Mitchell, with an all-new Medic class of
soldier.
· Multiplayer Returns: The game that
dominated the Xbox LIVE® online entertainment network is back and it's
bigger and better than ever before.
Ubisoft set the benchmark for online
play with the launch of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon in 2001. Today, Ghost
Recon has become one of the best experiences on Xbox and the Xbox LIVE
online gaming service and has sold more than 12.5 million units worldwide
to date. For more information on Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced
Warfighter® 2, please visit www.ghostrecon.com.

water hexes.
* Fixed the bug with the
"Next" and "First" buttons overlapping when displaying

* Many more tweaks, fiddles, and
adjustments!

bit!

Tecmo Bowl & Sonic Spinball Smash Their Way to Wii's Virtual Console
Mar 12, 2007 Double
Dungeons rounds out trio of titles
Today Nintendo adds three classic games
to the popular Wii video game system’s Wii Shop Channel. Nintendo adds
new games to the channel every Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed
Internet connection can redeem Wii Points to download the games. Wii
Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This
week’s new games are:
Tecmo Bowl NES 1-2 players 500 Wii
Points Tecmo Bowl pits the player versus the computer in 11-game,
single-elimination playoff action. Players also can go head-to-head with a
human opponent in action or coach mode. The player can select from 12
teams. On offense there are usually two run and two pass plays to choose
from. The player takes control of the quarterback before the snap and then
either hands off to the running back or works through his receiver
progression from the top to the bottom of the screen. Defense consists of
trying to guess which offensive play the opponent will select and then
taking control of one of the defensive players before the snap. A very
simple power-meter system is used for kicking field goals, extra points
and punts.
Sonic Spinball Sega Genesis 1-4 players
800 Wii Points Dr. Eggman (aka Dr. Robotnik) has taken over Mt. Mobius and
turned it into a mechanical base. He is using energy from the magma
flowing under the volcano to power his Veg-O-Fortress. He has the power to
transform helpless animals into robots. Sonic the Hedgehog must take down
this fortress to free the enslaved animals. The only way to make that
happen is to trigger an eruption in the volcano it’s built on. Sonic
knows this can be done by removing the Chaos Emeralds that keep the
volcano stable. Dr. Eggman, however, is also aware of the fragile
relationship that exists between the emeralds and the mountain, and he’s
set up an elaborate Pinball Defense System to make sure the precious
jewels don’t go anywhere.
Double Dungeons TurboGraxf-16 1-2
players 600 Wii Points Double Dungeons is a dungeon role-playing game that
features smooth-scrolling 3-D game play. Two players can play at the same
time, which makes this game truly stand out from the rest. There are 22
unique scenarios, spread out among six levels. The higher the level is,
the harder the scenario. Because each scenario is independent, players can
choose to start the game from any scenario other than the final one.
Players defeat monsters in each dungeon to gain experience while searching
for the “key” that opens the door to the room with the boss. They buy
equipment at the shop, team up with characters and defeat the boss to
clear a scenario. Players must conquer all 21 scenarios from levels 1
through 5 to obtain passwords. If they obtain all of them, they make their
way to the final scenario!
Go to the Wii Shop channel to download
these games in addition to already available classics like Super Mario 64,
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Gunstar Heroes, Sonic The
Hedgehog, Bonk's Adventure, and Super Mario Bros.! Click here for a list

About
Jaws
Based
on the popular bestseller by Peter Benchley, directed by Steven Spielberg
and produced by Richard Zanuck and David Brown, Jaws both fascinated and
terrified audiences, breaking box office records upon its release in 1975.
Filled with heart-stopping tension and stunning power, the powerful film
launched director Steven Spielberg's phenomenal commercial success and won
three Academy Awards®: Best Sound, Best Original Score and Best Film
Editing. In addition, the memorable score by John Williams won a Golden
Globe Award for 'Best Score' and was named one of the Top 100 Films by the
American Film Institute.
Jaws
also introduced the predatory shark as a new cinematic icon and struck a
primal chord with audiences who connected overwhelmingly with the film's
mixture of action adventure, terror, and moments of hilarity. The impact
was so enduring that audiences never looked at the water the same way
again in this suspenseful story of an eastern seaboard community
terrorized by a giant white shark.
