New Version 1.21 Weird Worlds Patch! Updating the Update!

Hampstead, NC, 06 December 2006 A new patch for Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space? Or did we screw up and send out an old press release?

No, it is indeed a new patch for the PC version of Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space, and yes, there was a recent patch for the game already. You see, beta testing is not an exact science. No matter how often you withhold food and water from your testers, beat them with rubber hoses, or force them to listen to Celine Dion, a bug or two can still slip past them. The version 1.21 upgrade corrects one error that slipped past the testers. The Primordius event was not working properly, with the wrong star name displayed. Fearless tester Ernest Adams though found this bug and brought it to the attention of the wizardly trio of Digital Eel. Digital Eel immediately sprang into action and whipped up a new patch that neutralized this error. There are no other changes between the version 1.21 patch and the recent 1.2 patch, but obviously you'll want to have the latest and greatest patch. Download this most recent update at:

www.shrapnelgames.com/digital_eel/weird_worlds/6.htm

Please note that this patch is only applicable to the PC version of Weird Worlds, working on both boxed and download copies. The Mac patch is still in the works. Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space has been a fan and critical darling since its release, winning such awards as the Gametunnel 2005 Adventure/Quest Game of the Year and the 2006 IGF Innovation in Audio award. The potential for awards is not over though!

Currently Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space is under consideration at the Gameshadow Innovation in Games Festival and Awards for both the most "Imaginative Use of In-Game Audio" and the People's Choice award. If you're a fan of Weird Worlds please take a moment to vote for Weird Worlds as the People's Choice. You'll sleep much better if you do.

Konami and Burger King Corporation Invite Kids to Get up and Get Active Exclusive Dance Dance Revolution® Premiums Available at BURGER KING® Restaurants With the Purchase of a Kids Meal Throughout December 2006

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.-- December 6, 2006 --Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. and Burger King Corporation should have children dancing at the dinner table this holiday season with an unbeatable combo that delivers the fun and excitement of the world’s #1-selling dance video game -- Dance Dance Revolution® -- to children everywhere. Participating BURGER KING® restaurants nationwide will offer one of eight exclusive Dance Dance Revolution toy premiums with each purchase of a Kids Meal from Dec. 4 through 31 or while supplies last.

“Dance Dance Revolution and BURGER KING® restaurants will get in the groove this holiday season, as we promote fitness to our youth in fun and exciting ways,” said Catherine Fowler, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. “Children can enjoy a BK™ Kids Meal that includes smart menu choices such as low fat milk and apple sauce and then get motivated to dance the afternoon away by receiving a one-of-a-kind DDR premium.”

Burger King Corporation will support the program with a fully-integrated marketing campaign that includes television advertising, in-restaurant merchandising, custom DDR themed Kids Meal bags and cups, and an online micro site at www.bk.com/dance.

“Dance Dance Revolution is a unique, entertaining resource that allows kids of all ages to have fun while being physically active,” said Martha Tomas Flynn, senior director of sponsorships and promotions, Burger King Corporation. “By providing DDR toy premiums with BURGER KING® Kids Meals, the DDR promotion encourages families to share in both meal time and play time.”

The promotion with Burger King Corporation also coincides with the release of the three latest titles in the best selling DDR series – Dance Dance Revolution SuperNOVA for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and Dance Dance Revolution ULTRAMIX4 for the Xbox® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft available now and the highly-anticipated next generation debut of the series Dance Dance Revolution Universe for the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft available in early 2007. Since it was first introduced to North American video game consoles in 2001, Dance Dance Revolution has sold more than four million units.

Additionally, the DDR franchise has created a fitness phenomenon that has received a tremendous amount of recognition for helping people of all ages lose weight and achieve better health. Each version of the game has a Workout Mode that allows users to track calories burned and monitor their own fitness regiment. DDR has created a new trend in gaming that takes players off of the couch and away from the joystick. Apart from the game being introduced to schools throughout the U.S., DDR has also become a valuable tool used in numerous research studies on fighting childhood obesity.

Konami has also recently announced partnerships with 24 Hour Fitness Clubs and the State of West Virginia, showcasing the health and educational benefits of the top-selling game in a wide array of unique venues. Through the deal with 24 Hour Fitness Clubs, DDR has been added to the Kids Club section of all participating venues while the deal with the State of West Virginia makes DDR a part of the official physical education curriculum in every public school in the state. These partnerships allow children to enjoy the health benefits of DDR while having fun.
