Crackdown adds Xbox Live content

“Crackdown” Agents to Rearm, Reload With New Downloadable Content on Xbox LIVE

Microsoft Game Studios and Realtime Worlds provide explosive new cars, game modes and weapons for critically acclaimed Xbox 360 exclusive “Crackdown.”

REDMOND, Wash. — May 10, 2007 — Thought Pacific City was well on its way to becoming a wholesome, law-abiding community? Think again, Agent.

Microsoft Game Studios and Realtime Worlds today announced that there is still more crime to be purged and new ways to purge it with the release of both free and premium downloadable content for the critically acclaimed Xbox 360™ open-world action title “Crackdown™.” The content will be available for download from Xbox LIVE® Marketplace today.

With more than 900,000 units of “Crackdown” sold-through in only two months, Microsoft Game Studios and Realtime Worlds are extending the game’s unparalleled experience, offering gamers several exciting new features, including vehicles, weapons, game modes and seven highly explosive, new Achievements. In addition, Agents will have free access to improved mission time trials, an option to repopulate gangs and kingpins after they have beaten the game, a vehicle impound garage, and the long-awaited Keys to the City — a comprehensive cheat mode including new “super agent” abilities and the option to create ramps, vehicles and explosives anywhere in Pacific City, at any point in the game.

For 800 Microsoft® Points, Agents can also access the full “Crackdown” armory, which includes three unique vehicles, four new devastating weapons, co-op game types, an Agent “cloaking device” and an added dynamic street-racing mode.

The new and improved street-racing mode brings several white-knuckle races to the streets … and everywhere in between. Agents can win by any means necessary — via speed or sabotage.

Vehicle selection is imperative to an Agent’s success, and the premium vehicle additions will help gamers dominate their foes. The Agency Buggy, fitted with a turret for the new, ultimate fast-firing projectile chain gun, is the vehicle of choice in rough and tumble off-road races. The low-profile battering ram of the Agency Armored Vehicle is strong enough to knock vehicles out of the way and protect Agents from an onslaught of gunfire, and is fitted with an independently aiming rocket turret. The Agency Racecar is the high-speed car of choice on the long stretches of city pavement.

In addition to a flocking rocket launcher (the MSK Lobber) and the all-powerful MZ360 Mini-Gun, the premium content will feature both proximity mines and the HRX Harpoon gun capable of stopping crime in its path by nailing criminals to nearby cars and walls.

In addition, if a player who has yet to purchase the PDLC content enters into a co-op game with a partner who has, that player will be able to preview the new content for the duration of that game.

For gamers interested in dashboard content, one new “Crackdown” theme will be available for 150 Microsoft Points, as well as four exciting new picture packs at varying prices.

And finally, on May 16, owners of the specially marked packages of “Crackdown” will be able to access the long-awaited “Halo® 3” multiplayer beta from the in-game menu.

So whether it’s through the free or premium content, “Crackdown” gamers on Xbox LIVE are bracing themselves to hit the streets of Pacific City once again. Now, get out there, Agent, and kick crime where it hurts.

Greetings “Project Gotham Racing 4” Fans!

We know it’s been a while since you’ve heard from us, so we’re here to get you up to speed (no pun intended) on “Project Gotham Racing® 4,” Bizarre Creations’ highly-anticipated sequel to the blockbuster “PGR®” racing franchise. Set to drift onto store shelves this fall, there are several new features to get your engines revved up about.

Right from the starting line, Bizarre’s vision for “PGR 4” was to create an emotionally-charged racing experience, where players become attached to their careers, profiles and vehicles. There are several new features that embody this emotional experience, the most significant being the new career mode. Drivers will be rewarded with a growing fanbase that’ll cheer them on, react to their every move and support them through victory. Just imagine hearing the roar of the crowd as you cross the finish line with your own style and flair.

One of the most appealing new gameplay elements is the dynamic weather system. Now racing through a track can mean facing an unexpected rain storm or snow flurries in the middle of a race. This results in changing physics when powering around a corner on the wet or icy surface in Shanghai and St. Petersburg or any of the game’s 10 other locations. So, if you think driving on a dry track is boring…

Weather changes won’t be the only element that brings added excitement and challenge to the game. Flair and driving style will now be just as important as technical skill, as players passing their opponent at full speed will pump their fists and exhibit more emotion as they earn recognition with the revised Kudos system. The Kudos will be worthwhile too, because the new A.I. personalities will be able to perform bold new driving maneuvers as they race side by side with other drivers.

”PGR 4” will also feature some of the world’s most iconic cars, as new vehicles are lined up and ready to be driven, including the following:

2004 TVR Sagaris 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray 2005 Vanwall GPR V12 1993 Toyota Supra Turbo 2005 Gumpert Apollo 1997 Panoz GTR-1 Coupe · 2006 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano· 1957 Maserati 250F

Be on the lookout next month for additional updates as we roll out the game’s impressive new features, locations and vehicle list.

Until next time, keep your car in fifth and two wheels on the pavement!

Cross-Platform Innovator “Shadowrun” Goes Gold, Twice, For Windows Vista and Xbox 360

Gaming communities on Xbox 360™ and Windows Vista™ will come together for the first time over Xbox LIVE and Games For Windows – LIVE, when “Shadowrun™” teleports to retailers May 29

Microsoft Game Studios today announced that the eagerly awaited and innovative first-person shooter (FPS) “Shadowrun” has gone gold and will begin hitting retailers throughout North America on May 29.

From renowned developer FASA Studio, the team that brought you the Xbox LIVE launch title “MechAssault®,” and the lead designer behind the original “Halo®,” “Shadowrun” incorporates ancient magic and advanced technology into strategic and clever teambased gameplay for an unparalled combat experience.

Utilizing both the Xbox LIVE and Games For Windows – LIVE network, “Shadowrun” tears down the walls between friends and gamer communities on the Xbox 360 and Windows Vista-based PC by letting as many as 16 gamers play together, regardless of platform*. Not only does “Shadowrun” bring these communities together, it also extends the features gamers love on Xbox LIVE, such as gamertags, achievements, friends lists and integrated voice communication, onto the PC through Games for Windows — LIVE. “Shadowrun” is optimized for a multiplayer online experience – which requires an Xbox LIVE Gold account on Xbox 360 or Silver account on Games for Windows – LIVE.

“Shadowrun” will ship with nine unique maps and an additional three map variations, showcasing dynamic environments set in a futuristic Santos, Brazil, and its neighboring, ancient Ziggurat. “Shadowrun” includes six training chapters, allowing gamers the opportunity to fine-tune their strategy and lethal combinations against the intuitively smart and talented A.I. bots. Gamers can also play with bots at four levels of difficulty on every map and with every game type.

After a 5,000-year absence, magic has returned to the world of “Shadowrun.” It is 2031 and global corporations battle a relentless ancient order to harness this reawakened power. Be a part of the RNA, a global mega-corporation, and bring order (and profit) to a world of chaos. Or join the Lineage to keep magic wild and free at all costs. Choose a side and wage war for the future of magic in the new world of “Shadowrun.” Players vie for supremacy in an intense FPS experience, in the “Shadowrun” universe, that rewards cleverness, cunning and split-second improvisation through a unique combination of modern weapons, ancient magic and advanced technology.

Humans, elves, dwarves and trolls, can pick up ”Shadowrun” for the estimated retail price of $59.99 for Xbox 360 and $49.99 for Windows Vista. “Shadowrun” is rated “M” for Mature, for gamers 17 years old and above.\

Gurumin No Longer in Short Supply Suggested Retail Price Cut in Half to $19.99 to Reward RPG Fans' Patience

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - May 08, 2007 Gamers hoping to play Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure, the Nihon Falcom action-RPG for PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system localized and published by Mastiff, LLC, should have an easier time of it, as Mastiff announced today that supply has been increased at a number of retail locations nationwide. Copies of the critically acclaimed action-roleplaying game can be found at retailers across North America.

Gamers in some regions had trouble finding the game in the weeks following its February release, as supplies were extremely limited; however, consumers who failed to find the game initially will have their patience rewarded - the suggested price of Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure has been cut in half, bringing the price down to only $19.99.

"The PSP system has dropped to $169.99," commented Parin, the 14-year-old star of Gurumin, "So you really don't have any more excuses to not run out and pick up my game now. If you're still holding out, you should just give up video games entirely, and take up something more your speed - like needlepoint!" "Between the increased availability and the economical price, RPG fans should now have no trouble getting their hands on Gurumin," said Bill Swartz, Head Woof of Mastiff, LLC.

Gurumin has won the hearts of dozens of reviewers, including Gabe Graziani of GameSpy, who said, "Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure delivers the classic Japanese RPG experience and is simultaneously adorable and hilarious ... if you're only planning to get a single RPG for your PSP® this year, this could well be the one to play."

"Charming, full of personality, and with a gentle sense of humor, Gurumin is a bright and catchy portable game," said Heather Campbell of Play magazine. Electronic Gaming Monthly even compared Gurumin to a gaming legend: "Gurumin's solid gameplay and likeable characters make it the closest thing to a Zelda game you'll find on Sony's handheld."

Parin has just started making monster friends when evil spirits, known as Phantoms, invade the village and monsternap most of the inhabitants. Nintendo adds three VC titles to line-up

A crime spree on the Virtual Console this week has resulted in a trio of kidnappings, threatening to ruin the weekend of three classic video game stars Mike Haggar, Dr. Tomari and Mighty Bomb Jack! Do you have what it takes to bring their enemies to justice on three generations of consoles; NES, Super NES and TurboGrafx16? For the best retro gaming around, it's time to pay a visit to the red-hot Wii video game system's Wii Shop Channel.

The three new classic games go live at 9 a.m. Pacific time. Nintendo adds new games to the channel every Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week's new games are:

Mighty Bomb Jack (NES, 1 player, 500 Wii Points): Mighty Bomb Jack is an action/adventure game that was originally released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987 by Tecmo. The hero of the game, Jack, must make his way through 16 levels of a pyramid in order to defeat the demon Belzebut and rescue the royal Pamera family. Each level is split into two parts; an action zone and a Royal Palace room. Action zones can be split up into several portions, and contain power-ups usually hidden in treasure chests such as money bags, Mighty Coins, and Mighty Drinks. Mighty Coins allow Jack to change colors; blue allows Jack to open orange treasure chests, orange allows him to open any treasure chest by simply touching it from the side, and green transforms all enemies on the screen into coins for 5 seconds. Mighty Drinks add 10 seconds to the game's timer.

Final Fight (Super NES, 1 player, 800 Wii Points): Jessica had it all. She was the daughter of former wrestling star and mayor of Metro City Mike Haggar and girlfriend to Cody Travers, one of the coolest and toughest boys around. But now she has been mysteriously kidnapped! Take to the streets with either Haggar or Cody and fight your way across town, deep into the turf of the Mad Gear Gang. As you cross the town, fight with all your strength to save the one you love. Enjoy unmatched beat 'em up action in this arcade classic and discover just who is behind the Mad Gear Gang in what may be Metro City's final fight.

Ordyne (TurboGrafx16, 2 players, 600 Wii Points): Ordyne is a port of the popular side-scrolling arcade shooter that includes simultaneous two-player co-op play as well as impressive visuals and catchy background music. The evil Kubota has kidnapped Dr. Tomari's fiancee, Kana, and taken the colossal nuclear reactor Ordyne. In order to reclaim them, Dr. Tomari and his assistant Felix take to their battleships and head off in pursuit. Avoid enemies and advance through seven different levels that take place on land, sea, and air. Collect crystals from defeated enemies and use them to buy items or upgrades for your ship at the Space Inn. Do you have what it takes to defeat the boss at the end of each level and ultimately reach Kubota in the final stage, Kubota World?
